Key Account Manager 

Job Purpose

Primary responsibility for development, implementation, and management of sales efforts through direct personal sales and team leadership specific to assigned accounts; insuring the profitable growth of Amphenol division

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales management of assigned accounts.
  • Functions as main interface between Amphenol and key accounts.
  • Achieves budgeted order volume for Amphenol.
  • Develops and implements strategies to penetrate new and existing accounts providing profitable business opportunities and increased order volume.
  • Implements marketing plans through personal selling and strategic team building.
  • Promotes Amphenol products and assists customers in application specific projects and programs.
  • Collects data from customers, sales team and market trends, and competitive market data to determine next generation products.
  • Provides accurate feedback on market conditions and trends.
  • Represents the company in the global market place and develops positive customer relationships towards the company.
  • Assists in order budgeting and project orders as required.
  • Controls expenses appropriate to performance.
  • Maintains customer service levels through expediting orders, quotations, samples etc.
  • Negotiates corporate contracts and sales contracts on behalf of the company.
  • Works closely with the Product Management and/or Engineering departments to ensure that Amphenol's portfolio is relevant and up-to-date with market needs; continuously provides "voice of the customer" feedback internally.
  • Identifies potential market segments to contribute to company growth and profitability. 
  • Plans and oversees new market initiatives.
  • Researches organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Develops and manages product lines and markets.
  • Presents new products to current customers and enhances existing relationships.
  • Understands and follows applicable company practices, policies and procedures.
  • Attends industry events and conferences; provides feedback and information on market and creative trends. 
  • Travels globally per business needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of direct sales experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows Desktop, web browsers, etc.
  • Ability to work without supervision consistently performing duties to company standards.
  • Aggressive approach to drive all aspects of product lines/market segments.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment. Direct contact with customers, managers, and employees. Frequent customer visits, company events. Must be able to hear and see with 100% accuracy with or without correction.

Travel is required based on company needs.  Must be open to occasional evening work/weekends.
